How does these two different company uses the internet (Part 1)
Small Brief explanation
These post will be focusing on two different types of business organizations on how they use internet for their business activities. In my module, I have already studied about 4 types of business activities which is;
- Business Research
- Procurement
- Communication
- Promotion
Starbucks Introduction and their business activities
Starbucks is a fast company which their main trademark product will be selling coffee and some pastries. They also get extra income from selling their merchandise and promotions drinks to their customers in a limited period of time. The company was established in 1971 and currently is one of the top 3 companies which are food and drinks.

So how does the company use internet?
For Communication, the company use social media and their own website to communicate with their customers. The purpose of establishing a communication is to monitor and do a marketing research about what are the high trending demands of the customer request in social media. The communication is really important for the company because it bring a positive change to the business management when they receive a positive or negative feedback about their product.
For procurement business activity, Starbucks has created its own app to allow their customer to be able to pay their drinks and pastries much faster. This can bring benefits to the firm which allows Starbucks to influence their customers to buy their product by providing a convenient to the consumers to buy their drinks. With this App this can increase the reputation of the company and their competitive advantages. in the diagram below shows an example of a picture inside the Starbucks App.

We all know currently there are a lot of competitors in different types of business such as business that relates with foods, business with games and further more. So how does Starbucks try to be ahead their competitors? The solution would be using internet to do their business research which will allows them to gain secondary research information from just asking feedbacks or updating the high request demand products from their competitors customers. Starbucks also use internet to promote their limited time products such as the Unicorn Frappuccino, which become the most requested drinks by their customers after it was announced.
