The Type of connection in internet and Equipment to set up internet?

The types of internet connections

In my recent post, I have shortly explained about what do we need before using internet. Now I am going to list down what are the connections that are used when using an internet. These are some of the connections that I'm going to cover within this posts.

World Wide Web (WWW)

The World Wide Web(WWW) was created by Tim Berners Lee in 1990.  The WWW is where large collection of documents known as web pages but written as HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) stored. These pages can be linked to each other by hyperlink able to upload picture or photo known as hypermedia. Therefore, browsing using browser software able to visit different website on the World Wide Web through popular web browser such as Goggle Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. Every websites on the Internet has a unique address of URLs such as http://www.youtube.com.

Dial Up Connection

When the device are connected to the internet the data goes through telephone line. Then the data will be collected by the modem and it will use an analog signals to make a dial up connection with the internet service provider. Therefore, the internet service provider will then enable the device to connect into the internet.

Broadband 

Currently in Brunei, there are only 3 companies that provide broadband services to the public so that they can use it at any place. It is sometimes defined as a small device which is capable of providing internet connection by connecting itself through cable lines. 

The Equipment that are needed to set up internet

Before explaining how the internet operates, I need to relate them to a summary on how to set up an internet service with the requirement items. Without having these equipment, you will not be able to access any internet because there are no items that can support you to access them.

Router

At this time, Brunei ISP company known as Telbru has only provide router to its new customers which is a device that are capable to let the owner to communicate from their house to the networks. This will allows them to access internet at any time from their place. Router can also play a role as a security network due to it contain a software that are capable to prevent from hackers to attack and protecting the user data.

Server

It is a room full in a stack of a small pieces of computer which are mostly a combination of three parts such as processor, high speed RAM  and highly upgraded of hard drive that are usually shown in movies or television shows. The server are mostly used by bigger companies to provide them an internet network. Servers are able to share their information to multiple users in a unique way for example game servers can provide data to the gamers so that they can play online matches with different regions.

Figure 2, shows an example picture of how a servers room looks like.

Cellular Data

It is a network that are provided in the mobile phone which allows the gadget to be able surfing internet. In this modern era the most well known cellular data is 4G line. It is capable to surf much faster with the internet but it drained the usage of data a lot more than 3G.
